Built from Steam's own data for App 3850550, fetched on September 22, 2026. Read the release date row as “what the listing showed that day”, not as a promise. Free to play means no purchase price; in-app purchases are listed.
The date, and how firm it is
The Steam store page marks the game as coming soon and shows a planned release date of September 25, 2026. That is the whole public statement: a date on a listing.
We have been reading that listing since late August, and the date has not stood still. On August 28, 2026 it read September 16. On September 7 it read September 22. From September 18 onward it has read September 25, and it still did on September 22. Three dates in under four weeks, each later than the last: nine days of drift.
We found no explanation for the moves in any channel we read. The newest Steam announcement, dated August 31, 2026, contains no release details, and nothing has been posted there since.
These are our readings of a store page, not statements by the developers. September 25 is the plan as of our last check, and a plan that moved twice in a month can move again. If it does, the new reading goes into the log below.
Our dated checks of the Steam listing
Current answer (checked September 22, 2026): coming soon, planned release date September 25, 2026. Not yet playable on Steam.
Store page and Steam's app data: coming soon, planned release date September 25, 2026, unchanged. No demo button, 0 user reviews.
The listing read September 25, 2026 — the first time we saw this date, three days later than the one before. No Steam announcement came with the change.
The listing read September 22, 2026, six days later than our first reading. The August 31 announcement, the newest at that point, did not mention a date.
Our first recorded reading: September 16, 2026, status coming soon.
What time will it unlock?
No hour has been announced. None of the 11 items in the app's Steam feed, the game's news on Nutaku or the publisher's Bluesky account names a release time for the Steam version, and we do not guess one.
One data point exists, and it is not an announcement. When we fetched the store page on September 22, 2026, its HTML carried a field named app_release_date with the value 1790352000. Read as Unix time, that is September 25, 2026 at 16:00 UTC — 18:00 CEST (UTC+2) in Central Europe, 12:00 noon US Eastern (EDT, UTC−4). The visible page shows no hour: it gives the planned date and a countdown in days (“approximately 3 days” on September 22).
Treat that value as a plan, not a promise. It is a planned value embedded in the listing, set by the publisher and changeable at any time, and the date it belongs to has already moved twice in our checks. Do not plan your evening around it.
The one time we have seen this team name an hour — the demo, October 7, 2025 at 21:00 CET — it did so in a Steam announcement three days ahead. A repeat would go into our event log.

What changes on release day, and what we will re-check
A release flips more than one field. On the day the listing goes live — September 25, 2026 if the plan holds — we re-read Steam's data. The values below are as of September 22, 2026; a launch can change each of them.
- Status and date. “Coming soon” becomes a release date in the past tense. We record the day we see it.
- Platforms. Windows and macOS. No Linux build is listed.
- Requirements. Windows minimum: Windows 10 or 11, 8 GB RAM, 2 GB of storage, “Internet required”. Mac minimum: High Sierra, 4 GB RAM, 4 GB of storage. Full tables are on the download page.
- Languages. 10, all with interface and subtitles; none with full audio.
- DLC and packages. 0 DLC, no paid packages, no bundle.
- Categories. Single-player, In-App Purchases, Family Sharing and two accessibility flags. No Steam Cloud and no achievements are listed.
- Germany. With a German store region the store page shows an unavailability notice instead of the listing today; see the questions below.
- First patch notes. The app's Steam feed holds none so far. The first one goes into the event log with its date and link.
You do not have to wait
The Steam build is the only version still waiting. The game has been playable on Nutaku since July 16, 2026, the launch date Nutaku's announcement gave. Nutaku's listing offers it for PC browser and mobile browser, as an Android APK and as an iOS file you sideload. It is free with in-game purchases and needs a Nutaku account.
There is also a standalone browser build at isekaiwaifuoverlord.com. On September 22, 2026 it served a Unity WebGL build behind an 18+ notice; the site's footer states that it is operated by IT Delaza EOOD (Bulgaria).
One caution: no source says that browser progress carries over to Steam, and the Steam listing does not include Steam Cloud. Assume nothing transfers until the developers say otherwise. Each route, with what it requires, is on the download page.

Questions and answers
Was Isekai: Waifu Overlord delayed?
No delay has been announced in any channel we read, and we won't put that word in the developers' mouths. What we can show is the listing: after two moves it reads nine days later than the first date we recorded on August 28, 2026, and no post we read explains why. The dated readings are in the check log above.
Is there a demo on Steam?
Not today. On September 22, 2026 the listing had no demo button and Steam's data showed no demo. One was released on October 7–8, 2025 and took part in Steam Next Fest, October 13–20, 2025. No post says when or why it was taken down.
Will there be launch rewards on Steam?
None have been announced. As of September 22, 2026, no Steam announcement mentions a launch bundle, a wishlist reward or a launch code. The July 2026 gold race belonged to the Nutaku launch and has expired. A Steam launch gift, if announced, will be dated and linked on the promo codes page.
Does adding the game to my wishlist do anything?
The store page itself says that wishlisting gets you notified when the game becomes available, which is useful for a date that has moved twice. Beyond that, nothing has been promised: no wishlist reward has been announced, and a free-to-play game has no launch discount. The publisher has posted two wishlist totals: 65,000 on July 28, 2026 and 80,000 on August 31, 2026.
Will it be released in Germany?
Not through the German Steam store, as things stand. On September 22, 2026, Steam's app data returned no listing with the store region set to Germany, while the same request for Austria did; Steam's rating data marks the game as banned for Germany. Every Adult Only title we tested behaves the same way: it is Steam's policy for Germany, not a judgement on this game. Austria and Switzerland see the page. In Germany the browser builds are the practical route.
